Emily Wright has published her book on cello playing. I love her blog, I’m sure I’ll love her when I eventually meet her in person, and I am expecting to love her book, too. It’s downloading “wright” now.

We *so* need to meet in person.
Emily’s book visits the area of overpronation, even to the point advocating a daily dose of excessive pronation to counteract it. I know from a lesson that I pronate a little more than meets Emily’s taste, but not so much that she insisted I change, just suggested that I be careful, and may want to change. And I feel I understand some of why she feels that way.
But my hand pronation is not as much as I think, based on your videos, you would advocate. And yet, I also feel I understand and appreciate why you feel your way, also.
Interesting issue. I rather enjoy these sorts of mysteries and inconsistencies. What a dull world if all cello players, and teachers, were the same.
Oops, I meant “daily dose of excessive supination”.
